Job Purpose
Maintain the stock levels of the pick, intermediate, a-frame and bulk locations areas by picking and replenishing in accordance with the system-generated documents as per operational standards and procedures.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Honesty - pride in his job and an eye for detail
- Clear understanding of the client’s requirements
- Ensure correct use of vehicle and other company equipment and to timeously report any defects
- To report and record any non-conformity with regards to customer merchandise
- Maintain high levels of hygiene of the vehicle
- Ability to ensure that the pick face and intermediate areas are replenished timeously and according to batch control and SOPs
- To work within operating areas as determined by management and the needs of the business
- When carrying out duties - follow standard operating procedures and safe working practices
- To assist with the induction of new employees
- Perform administrative tasks in line with SOP
- Understanding the product range
- Ensure that all work areas are kept neat, tidy and obstruction free
- Completion of Vehicle check lists and safe driving codes
- Delivery on day, within the required time slots
- Collection of uplifts, correct POD paperwork
- Understanding the documentation used in the replenishment/picking process
- Drive within the route agreed
- Feedback to CSO of any issues or problems at the backdoor
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric – Essential
- Reach Truck driver's License

- Good written and communication skills and understanding basic arithmetical principles

- The person needs a basic understanding of distribution and transport methods
- The person should be able to enforce health and safety procedures and identify hazards
- The person should have a working knowledge of packaging and warehousing methods and application
- The person should have a good understanding of quality as a key value
- Awareness of the importance of security
- Operational knowledge and understanding of service delivery
- Ability to understand instructions and to accurately carry out instructions - must listen effectively and convey ideas logically
- React to customers in a courteous and professional manner
- The person should be able to propose different solutions to problems when asked to do so - must be able to act of their own without being urged to do so
- Ability to meet time limits as set
- 5 Years driving experience in a multi-drop/ high value
- Knowledge of client's requirements and customers’ needs
- Ability to negotiate under stress
