GEA Africa has an opportunity for the right candidate to join our Transport Equipment/Service Sales Team to develop and further grow our Transport Equipment & Service business throughout our sales cluster. Our Transport Equipment & Service business spans several Product Lines, including Thermo King Refrigeration Units & Auxiliary Equipment, Anteo Tail-Lift units and Pommier/Furgocar Truck & Trailer Accessories.
Your responsibilities and tasks:

Contribute to the strategic and operational planning for the total Transport Equipment & Service business across all sales territories within the Southern & Eastern Africa Cluster.

Identify business opportunities relating to target markets/clients/applications, etc. and drive the development and execution of relevant strategies to grow these markets.

Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff.

Drive order intake, sales and profitability to achieve defined targets.

Define short and mid-term budgets in alignment with the Head of Transport Equipment Sales & Transport Exco team.

Control the order execution phase with regards to costs, margins planning and risks.

Plan and carry out direct marketing & sales activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales.

Develop ideas and create offers for sales and marketing to all accounts.

Respond to and follow up on sales enquiries by post, telephone, e-mail and personal visits.

Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions/stakeholders necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development.

Execute sales and manage and control the sales order process. Plan, organize, lead and control sales process from initial sale to handover to customer including collections of payment.

Liaise with relevant personnel in ordering, transporting, delivering and installation of equipment.

Encourage and build on a working relationship with the relevant transport workshops.

Ensure that all sales administrative tools, such as CRM system, are used optimally.

Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information

Suggest continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the organization

Develop a strong understanding of the transport industry, and the Transport product range. Attend defined training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Develop and maintain a strong customer focus by prioritising customer requirements, showing interest in and understanding of the needs and expectations of internal and external customers; establishing / maintaining effective relationships with customers; meeting or exceeding customer expectations while keeping organizational policies in mind.
Your profile and qualifications:

It is preferable that candidates have earned a tertiary qualification in Sales, Commerce or similar

A minimum of 5 years of technical sales experience is required preferably within a similar industry.

A strong track record of selling is essential.

Candidates should have new equipment sales experience.

The individual should be confident with visiting customers and building relationships. The role requires local and cross border travelling.

Candidates need to demonstrate proven experience in market intelligence and competitive analysis to define strategic orientation and to develop an approach for various customer groups

Language requirements: English and Afrikaans preferred
