JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: FINANCE 

REF NO: NDOH 102/2022

DUTIES:

  • Provide financial management support to the Grants in relation to adherence to guidelines and prescripts.
  • Conduct support visit meetings with Sub- Recipients and Lead-Implementers in relation to financial management.
  • Monitor financial performance and reporting for the Grant.
  • Ensure accurate financial reports are timeously distributed to all Sub-Recipients and Lead- Implementers. 
  • Manage risk and audit queries.
  • Provide input or update the risk register for the Chief Directorate and the Grant. 
  • Administer procurement of commodities ARV’s.
  • Monitor Sub-Recipient and Lead-Implementers procurement of commodities and ensure it complies with the procurement plan and budget.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • An appropriate recognized National Diploma (NQF 6) in Public Finance/Accounting/Financial Management/ Management Accounting or Taxation. 
  • A Bachelor's degree in the above fields will be an advantage.
  • At least three (3) years experience in a financial accounting environment, with proven experience in financial management, project management in a government environment and/or a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) sector at a supervisory level.
  • Broad knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations and Government financial reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of basic financial operating systems (Persal, Basic Accounting System (BAS) and Logis).
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Systems and principles of good governance for NGOs.
  • Knowledge of relevant prescripts and application of human resources as well as an understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service is preferable.
  • Good communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, interpersonal, time management, project management, facilitation, planning, organization and computer skills (MS Office package).
  • A valid driver’s licence.
