SPAR Western Cape, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd., is recruiting for a Senior Store Designer.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to give leadership both at retail and within retail operations on trends, and specifications within the built environment and to implement new ideas, and procedures into retail through plans, presentations and teamwork.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Manage a team of 4 store planners/designers.
  • Ensure structure and processes are being followed at all times.
  • Manage communications between all stakeholders.
  • Manage on-site measurements and asset register for revamps.
  • Guide and direct initial design briefs with Development, OPS, Retailer, Developers, etc.
  • Prepare detailed working drawings for construction for key sites.
  • Research and Developments on new trends, equipment, and specifications.
  • Manage and document relevant information through administrative procedures.
  • Prepare detailed presentations for interior design aesthetics.
  • Work in a team environment to achieve targets and deadlines.
  • Compile store photos of existing and new stores.
  • Brand Custodian.
  • Workshops with the Development team.
  • Ensuring plans are completed timeously and cost-effectively.
  • Quarterly Development Newsletter.
  • Drawings for of full projects.
  • Assist with tradeshows etc. (Team to be involved).
  • Project Cost Estimator.
  • Costings of projects
  • Annual Rates review of suppliers.
  • Risk Mitigation.

Minimum requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) Pre-requisite.
  • Tertiary qualification in Interior Design or Architectural Draughting.
  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience.
  • Valid driver’s licence - mandatory.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Well-trained Sketchup and Revit.
  • Knowledge of CorelDraw - advantageous.
  • Be enthusiastic and eager to learn.
