Yara International is a Norwegian chemical company. Yara Animal Nutrition's operations in South Africa include a raw materials processing plant and a local head office in Umbogintwini near Durban. The Animal Nutrition South African business is a reputable global feed manufacturer of high-quality Phosphate products and mineral feed supplements for ruminants and monogastric animals on modern, high producing farms.
The majority of Animal Nutrition employees are based at the manufacturing plant in Umbogintwini, with a national commercial team serving customers in the field.

Responsibilities
Responsible for facilitating and executing the procurement of raw materials, engineering spares, equipment, and services in support of Yara Animal Nutrition’s production facility.

- Procurement of engineering spares & equipment, consumables, assets, office equipment, protective plant equipment, laboratory supplies, general sundry items and, building and plant maintenance services.
- Administering Purchase Orders for Services/Breakdowns/ by conducting RFQs and scheduling site visits with vendors.
- Prepare commercial evaluations for high value items and services that are not exclusive, or OEM related.
- Assist stakeholders with CAPEX buying requirements, ensuring that tender processes are fair & in accordance with the accepted company standards.
- Negotiate & monitor contracts to deliver quality raw materials, goods & services to sustain the company operations.
- Serve as a point of contact within central procurement for and to maintain a selection of frame agreements, suppliers and centrally determined sourcing strategies.
- Sustain supplier relationship, including ongoing contract administration and control and collation of performance data (through overseeing supplier performance data collection and analysis).
- Administer Vendor Onboarding Applications. Guide and support colleagues on procurement requirements, administration, processes, and policies.
- Undertake integrity due diligence process on suppliers & performance evaluations to make recommendations for the company’s preferred supplier list.
- Supervise and manage colleagues when required.
- Contribute to Cost Management initiatives.
- Compile reports and provide feedback to stakeholders on procurement activities.
- Project management: Involve and participate in the project.
Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree or B.Tech. Degree in Commerce / Supply Chain.
- At least 5 years procurement experience in a manufacturing/heavy industrial environment with knowledge of engineering standards.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office and tools.
- SAP or enterprise resource planning tools experience a must.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence & own transport.
- Exposure to ISO Standards would be an advantage.
