Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the Procurement Engineer role is to develop and grow the portfolio of importing capital expenditure articles, identified by the international procurement function, for the Group. Responsibilities include identifying potential articles and supplier sources, ensuring a competitive rate and suitable quality, developing suitable strategies for the function, and reporting developments and successes to the business.

Job Objectives
- Translate strategic and business requirements into executable projects.
- Identify, evaluate, trial, test and communicate potential articles, and ensure they meet business objectives.
- Procure and source high-quality products locally and internationally, identifying best sources of supply and services that meet business requirements.

- Prepare budgets, cost analyses and reports.
- Develop strategies and business cases and present feasible and cost-effective scenarios to business.
- Manage and develop supplier relations and negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Drive business goals and objectives and engage with internal business stakeholders (including store designers and divisions) to ensure alignment and execution of business requirements.
- Drive achievement of continuous quality.
- Recommend new processes or systems for improvement and implement productivity improvement measures.
- Report to management.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, customers, and team members to align goals.
- Monitor and enforce the related company procurement policies and procedures.
- Support senior management in establishing related procurement practices and policies for the Group.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) - (essential).
- Project management-based qualification or certification - (desired).
Experience
- 5+ years experience in a procurement engineer, technical manager, quality control or similar role with demonstrable experience sourcing, purchasing, quality controlling and qualifying varying equipment and machinery - (essential).

Knowledge and Skills
- Strong ability to review technical documents such as standards, proposals, designs, budgets, etc. - (essential).
- Data processing and analysis skills in MS Office 365 with an advanced level of Excel skills – (essential).
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience skills working with various national and international stakeholders (internally and externally - (essential).
