Purpose:
Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Group leader, the successful incumbent will fulfil the necessary requirements within the Maintenance Department to meet the Company objectives with regard to maintenance, automation, resource allocation, Communication and people development
Key Performance Areas
- Stable production – ensure that downtime is kept below target
- Carry out electrical/electronic/mechanical repairs & improvements and generate reports
- Development of Apprentices and other staff
- Maintain high Safety, Health and Environmental standards (zero injuries)
- Time and Attendance adherence at all times
- Resolve Breakdown situations timeously
- Spare parts management
- Support relevant departments
- Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime, shutdown activities, callout, and standby as and when required
- Participation in Projects, member development, cost and environmental Kaizen activities
- Attend to legal compliance activities

Qualifications & Experience
- N5 Qualification plus Trade Test - Electrical or Millwright or both with preferable 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment OR National Diploma with preferable 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferable Experience in repairs & fault-finding
- Good experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- Good PC Literacy
- Good PLC and robotics knowledge with experience
- Experience in Various welding techniques
- Knowledge of OHS Act/ Plant compliance
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and production time checks
- Relevant Weld Plant experience would
