Primary Duties
- Perform semi-skilled technical assistance to electricians in designated areas:
- Provide support with planned maintenance
- Provide support with fault-finding
- Provide support with installations
- Laying cables in trenches, ducts and racks, including the securing of such cables
- Cleaning of machinery
- Greasing and oiling machinery
- Assist with moving objects and equipment
- Changing wheels on equipment
- Assist in keeping the workshop tidy and presentable at all times
- Carry out reasonable semi-skilled labour requests as required in designated area
- Ensure that all tools used are well maintained, and the correct tools are used for the relevant trade
- Adhere to AFMS Policies, Protocols and Procedures
- Ensure compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
It should be noted that, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time. Prescribed procedures may be amended by management as and when required

Qualification Requirements and Work-related Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- Nat Dip in Electrical N3 / Electrical Trade Certificate
Minimum Knowledge Requirements
- Grade 12
- Min 3-year relevant experience in a built environment, with at least 3 years experience performing minor electrical maintenance and repairs at a semi-skilled level
- Knowledge and good understanding of applicable Health & Safety regulations and procedures
- Willing and flexible to work extended hours and/or outside of normal working hours where required
- Knowledge of tools and material used in assigned areas of responsibility
People and Management Skill
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Good people skills
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Energetic
- Punctual and Reliable
- Well-motivated and team-orientated
- Friendly, polite and helpful when dealing with customers
- Service orientated
- Able to act quickly and calmly in emergencies
- Ability and willingness to learn
