Job Purpose

Responsible for providing guidance to different business areas on the Channel and CRM Strategy which includes the collaboration with various business areas regarding their channel-related initiatives, understanding those initiatives and then relaying to the Enterprise Architecture team any Gaps in the strategy that has been identified.

Also works as an advocate and laisse with Information Services and Technology operational teams and the Enterprise Architects researching technology trends.  

Identify operational opportunities and develop Architectures consistent with the enterprise strategy and vision. Serves as POCLAC O EA in relevant JourneyS/Asset. Drives Architectural input into the Programme Increment Planning, setting up and maintaining channel guardrails, reference architectures and roadmaps.

• Define Roadmap for transformation from current to future state Capability Architectures
  Organisational understanding and alignment around emerging Domain technologies
• Define and enforce Capability Architecture Principles/ Guardrails/ Roadmaps
• Define and enforce Domain Standards
• Determine Domain Technical Debt Rating
• Participation in Architecture Review Board and Solution Alignment Forum
• Consult to programmes(In time, on budget, great quality)
• Engage user community
• Become Preferred technology advisor by business units
• Develop and regularly maintain a future-state Domain and /or ICT vision in line with the organisation's Business and IT Strategies - as well as the roadmap for transforming between current and future Domain vision and or ICT vision
• Govern the development and ongoing review and update of the organisation's Domain Principles
• Govern the Architecture Review Board and the regular meeting of this board to ensure Solution Architecture alignment with ICT Principles, ICT Standards and Future State Vision
• Participate in the Architecture Review Board to ensure Solution Architecture alignment with Domain Principles, Standards and Future State Vision
• Governance of Innovation Ideation and the promotion of innovative ideas to Proof of Concept and Pilot Projects
• Work with operational teams to determine opportunities for improvement and define business requirements.
• Ensure continuous alignment between architectural delivery and the operational implementation and integrity of IT systems.
• Provide leadership and vision for the optimisation and rationalisation of ICT infrastructure - aimed at increasing capability and/or IT cost savings and/or IT Service Levels.
• Provide an Enterprise Architecture Centre of Excellence capability to the organisation
• Provide mentorship and coaching to all Architecture teams within the organisation
• Develop and regularly review and where necessary recommend updates to the organisation's Domain standards the organisation's IT Strategy and the ongoing maintenance thereof w.r.t. emerging technology utilisation
• Facilitate the organisation's knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technology - and how it can be leveraged for maximum business benefit
• Calculate the organisation's Domain Technical Debt and ensure this is regularly communicated to the Head of Architecture

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

Honours or Masters Degree (or higher) in either Information Systems or Computer Science

Preferred Certifications

• Degree or Honours or above degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering
• Cloud certification
• TOGAF Certification/ Zachman Certification
• SAFE certification

Type of Exposure

• Proficient exposure to Project life cycle and /or System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Proficient knowledge of IT Principles (Hardware; Software, Infrastructure etc.)
• ITIL
• Making presentations to groups at all levels
• General IT operational experience

Minimum Experience Level

5 years Architecture related experience – Solutions/Business/Domain/Enterprise
Channel Architecture experience essential

• Some basic security architecture knowledge – IDP, Authorizations, XACML
• IBM MDM and other IBM Products
• Angular JS
• Mobile Development Frameworks
• Event Frameworks
• API/JSON/REST and SOAP
• TOGAF
