Full Job Description - Read Carefully
Introduction
To identify, plan and execute logistics-related projects within the SPAR Logistics environment, as well as provide leadership in the ongoing improvement of logistics-related processes.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to streamline and maximise company performance
- Manage and refine Labour Management Standards on an ongoing basis
- Analysis of and providing solutions to logistics-related business challenges, e.g., Productivity-Based Pay systems
- Continuous reviews to optimise all warehouse layouts
- Identify and lead Logistics Improvement projects
- Data collection, data analysis and development of potential solutions with motivation on the potential results
- Understanding, analysis of and improvement of various Logistics systems in Inbound, Outbound and Perishables
- Being able to lead and manage various projects at the same time
- Effective management of projects from inception to completion
- Leading and providing direction to a dedicated short-term project team
- Implement and maintain the methods and processes required for “Lean Logistics” thinking and approaches
- Troubleshoot identified Logistics areas and processes with low productivity
- End-to-End Supply Chain Cost Modelling

Requirements
- Matric and Tertiary education in Industrial Engineering (essential)
- Relevant working experience will be advantageous
- Problem analysis and problem-solving methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written
- High level of numeracy, strong logical reasoning, and analytical skills
- High Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project, and PowerPoint)
- Programming experience will be advantageous
- Good administrative skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to provide leadership in a participative environment
- Ability to manage and take ownership of projects and deliver to the expected objectives
- Hands-on approach to problem solving
- Goal-oriented and self-driven to achieve results
- Personal attributes: team player, proactive, and self-motivated, and strong customer service orientation
- Strong desire to grow career and preparedness to go the extra mile to get there
