G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Technician based at our operations in Richards Bay, KwaZulu -Natal, reporting to the Regional Technical Manager.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Technician plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Main Responsibilities
Effective administration of the technology contract to ensure sound financial performance
- Coordinate around the profitability of contracts with a focus on maintenance, cost effectiveness and labor.

- Coordinate with administration on the contract cost and invoice documentation with accurate information

Effective management of staff
- Effective Organization

- Proper management of staff to work flow and job requirements.
- Coordinate with Office around work requirements
- Monitor daily tasks
- Train and upskill subordinates
- Leadership

- Staff motivation levels
- Evaluate staff performance
- Ensuring that acceptable standards of behavior at work are maintained by all subordinate employees, as required by G4S’s code of conduct and disciplinary code.
Effective management of operations
- Coordinating process flow and activities that have a direct/indirect impact on the outcome and success of a contract/project.
- Coordinate and complete daily tasks with close monitoring of standards and hours of subordinates.
- Client retention and customer service levels

- Ensuring that all required formal customer meetings are scheduled, attended and minuted.
- Maintenance of positive customer relationships
- Quality Management/Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard

- Conduct and oversee quality controls and inspections
Effective management of business development function
- New business development

- Identifying new business opportunities in the region’s sphere of operations, as well as in terms growth of business with existing customers.
Health and Safety
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
- Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
- Attend safety education and refresher programs
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- PSIRA Certification - Grade C
- Valid Driver´s Licence
- Formal Technical Training advantageous
- 2-3 years Electronic Security Services /Maintenance experience
- Extensive experience with regards to implementation of the following systems:

- CCTV
- Access Control
- Intruder Detection
- Fire Detection
- Fire Suppression

Software Knowledge Level
- Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance.
- Broad knowledge of Access Control.
- Broad knowledge of CCTV
- Strong knowledge base on communication protocols i.e. TCP/IP.
- Basic Computer literacy and proficiency.
- Windows 98 / 2000 / XP / Vista / Windows 7
- MS Office Suite (Full)
